// What forestry mulching is

Clear the growth, keep the ground

Forestry mulching uses a single machine to grind standing brush, saplings, and small trees right into mulch, in place - so you clear the land without burn piles, stump holes, or hauling loads of debris away.

Folks around the Binghamton area call us to mulch land for reasons like:

  • ✓  Clearing thick underbrush without tearing up the soil
  • ✓  Opening trails, fence lines, and property lines
  • ✓  Reclaiming a field or lot that's grown in with saplings
  • ✓  Thinning brush under trees you want to keep
  • ✓  Prepping ground for a build without a burn permit

Not sure if mulching or full clearing is the right call? Tell us what you've got and we'll give it to you straight.

// What we do

One machine, one pass, clean ground

Mulching handles the growth and the cleanup in the same step, so you're not paying a separate crew to haul brush away.

// The whole job, start to finish

What's included

We walk the property with you, agree on what comes down, and then:

  • Grind brush, vines, and saplings into mulch in place
  • Take down small trees up to the machine's capacity
  • Leave a clean layer of mulch that helps hold the soil
  • Selective mulching so the trees you want stay standing
  • No burn piles, no stump holes, no hauling bills

We Mulch It

The machine works through the brush and saplings in a single pass.

You're Done

Clean, mulched ground - no piles to burn, no debris to haul.

// What it costs

What goes into the price

Every property is different, so we walk it first, then give you an honest number. A few things move the price:

📏

Acreage & density

How much ground, and how thick. Heavy underbrush takes more passes than light growth.

🌲

Material size

Brush and saplings mulch fast. A stand of larger trees is a bigger job and priced that way.

🛣

Terrain & access

Flat, dry, reachable ground is quicker. Steep, wet, or tight sites add time.

Finish level

A rough clear is faster than a fine, evenly-mulched finish - we'll price both.

The only way to know for sure is to look. Book a free estimate and we'll give you a straight answer.

// Common questions

Forestry mulching questions

What's the difference between mulching and land clearing?

Mulching grinds the growth into mulch in place with one machine, so there's no burning or hauling. Full land clearing removes everything, including big trees and stumps, and hauls or chips the debris. For thick brush and small trees, mulching is usually faster and cheaper. We'll tell you which fits your job.

How big of trees can you mulch?

The machine handles brush, saplings, and small trees well. Above a certain diameter it's smarter (and cheaper) to take them down as a clearing job. We'll look at what you've got and recommend the right approach - often a mix of both.

Does the mulch need to be hauled away?

No - that's the whole point. The material is ground and left as a mulch layer that helps hold the soil and breaks down over time. If you'd rather it be removed for a build, we can talk through that too.

Do I need a permit to mulch my land?

That depends on your town and what you're clearing for, and permits are the owner's or contractor's responsibility. We're glad to do the work once you've checked with your local code office.
